Alternative Medicine 9: Body Math™
In this column we are exploring some of the exciting and interesting options that now exist in health care. Each issue we will focus on different aspects of alternative medicine, examining some of its basic tenets, some important issues involved as well as a closer look at specific therapies and treatments.
In this issue I would like to describe a universal language of healing called Body Math. This work was actually developed by myself (yes, I am after 8 articles on Alternative Medicine in this series finally including my own work!).
Body Math™ has strong influence from the works of Jean-Pierre Barral, French osteopath, and Dan Friesen, Canadian clairvoyant. Body Math™ is taught to both new healing arts practitioners and to those with many years of experience, as well as to anybody who wants to learn the powerful self-healing techniques from this system. Body Math™ can provide such a global perspective from which to understand, assess and treat a myriad of conditions both multi-dimensionally and wholistically. It is able to complement and expand the framework of many different specialties or helps to simply better understand and heal our own selves.I have found that if practitioners do not embrace these practices to heal themselves first, that they then cannot use them to help others to any great degree (the old saying: "healer, heal thyself!"). In fact many people with absolutely no background in the healing arts have been able to learn and apply these techniques and principles to their own lives with tremendous success. This is why I have opened up the teaching of Body Math™ to non-practitioners in the past few years. There have actually been a number of such students who have picked this up much better than many veteran practitioners. It really comes down to the amount of motivation and perseverance one has in working on one's own healing process. And in this we can all be equal and can all share the same goal of healing ourselves first. With Body Math™, the goal is the same for everyone: to have all 12 chakras present and strong on all 4 levels. The Body Math™ assessment is done by using one's hands to assess the restrictions in the electromagnetic field of the aura in four dimensions as well as assessing the health of the chakras on four levels. The chakras are the centers of expression for the body's vital life-force energy and have been well documented in eastern yogic tradition. These four levels that are assessed are the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual dimensions or "bodies" of the human aura. So Body Math™ is a Multidimensional Approach To Healing (M.A.T.H.) which assesses and treats these four Bodies (or layers) of the aura.
The assessment is done "off-body" by scanning with one's hand these four different layers of the electromagnetic field or aura for restrictions. And then scanning the chakras in these same four layers, at each level off the body, for their strength and degree of presence that will accurately reflect one's state of health at the time. This assessment technique evolved from Barral's "manual thermal diagnosis" assessment technique (of just restrictions in the first 2 layers) and later applied to Friesen's clairvoyant understanding of the chrakras (of just 8 chakras on 4 levels). I found that I could accurately translate what Friesen saw clairvoyantly with what I could feel with my hands off-body using Barral's manual thermal diagnosis technique. Body Math has expanded both systems and looks at the relationship between the restrictions on each level and the chakra(s) on each level that a given restriction is "draining" or "drawing energy from" in order to deal with the problem (be it physical, emotional, mental or spiritual in nature).
