Body Math™ in Kinesiology
A Global Approach to Assessment

Continued from the previous page

Body Math™ evolved from 22 years of extensive training and practice in the alternative healing arts and has a strong influence from the works of Jean-Pierre Barral, French osteopath, and Dan Friesen, Canadian clairvoyant. Body Math™is taught to both new healing arts practitioners and to those with many years of experience. Since it provides such a global perspective from which to understand, assess and treat a myriad of conditions both multidimensionally and wholistically, it can well complement and expand the framework of many different specialties--be they in the realm of traditional or alternative medicine. Body Math™ lends itself particularly well to the field of kinesiology as they are similar in many respects and complement each other quite effectively, and it is always helpful to have a complementary system from which to cross-reference and check oneself.

The actual assessment begins by the practitioner first "listening" with his/her hands to the entire body from the head with the patient standing, to determine the most significant area(s) of dysfunction at the time (this technique was developed by Barral, the French osteopath, and is taught as part of his Visceral Manipulation system). Next, the practitioner, using their hands "off-body", thoroughly scans the entire body four times body), checking each of the 4 levels of the aura for restrictions (or "energetic leaks") and then palpates on-body the corresponding regions to receive more specific information about each of the restrictions found. Then the chakras are assessed, also through off-body palpation, checking each one of the 12 chakras on each of the four levels. The restrictions or leaks are then checked to determine from which chakra on which level each came, thus providing more valuable information as to the nature of the restriction. A given restriction may show up on one or more levels at once and may be draining one or more chakras. If it is a multidimensional restriction, then it is determined (also through palpation) which level is most indicated, thus revealing which to treat first (the priority).

For example there could potentially be found a restriction over the heart showing up on all four levels at once (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually). This multidimensional restriction may be found to be primarily on the emotional subconscious, second level, and leaking from the orange chakra of that level. Since the orange chakra, among other things relates to oneâs sense of self, identity and thus oneâs boundaries, and this restriction is on the second level and found to be coming from an early imprinting from mother; it then may be safe to speculate that a key issue may be present around a difficulty in "saying no" or in protecting one's heart (due to this early learned pattern in the subconscious that says it is not alright to say no or says "you must be a doormat for your loved-one(s) just as your mother was"). On examination of the first level there may be found a restriction around the left coronary artery that is leaking from the yellow chakra or power centre of that level. It could be speculated that there may be some chest pain or tightness associated with feeling bullied by one's loved-one(s) and feeling helpless to do anything about it. This feeling may be reinforced by the third level mental plane restriction that is also present and leaking from the yellow chakra of its level as well, but being on the third level or mental plane relates to a belief about being powerless to do anything about one's relationships of the heart. And the fourth level is found to be leaking from the green heart centre where its spiritual life-force is also blocked making it difficult for one to love oneself.
