3rd Level: The Mental Body (Layer) of the Aura

The third level of the aura, located approximately 14 inches (36cm) off the body (about three times as far as the first level), is the mental plane and relates to our belief systems. There is evidence that this level corresponds to the radio range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Restrictions in this level come from beliefs and mental constructs that we formulate in order to cope with different stressful situations in life, particularly during our formative years. Problems can arise later in life, long after the original stressful stimulus is gone, if we still have our thinking and beliefs organized in such a way that no longer serve our best interest.

A simple example to illustrate this point is a child that learned (thus, developed the belief) that if she smiled and did not complain, she would not get in trouble, be yelled at or struck by her violent parent. As an adult having options and choices she did not have as a child, she may now find herself in a relationship with an abusive partner, whereby continuing to smile and not complain only serves to keep her in the abusive situation. It may have been the best strategy for surviving the situation as a child, but as an adult, this mental paradigm serves as an effective jailer, locking her into an abusive pattern.

This example is one existing in the more mundane realm of mental constructs, paradigms and belief systems. However, there are also problems that relate to the spiritual realm, regarding how we relate to the Divine. So if we are holding onto some belief that blocks us from receiving divine grace or spiritual blessings, it too will register as a problem or restriction in our third level.

The third level is different than the first two levels when it comes to assessing the chakras as damage in the third level is typically more of an 'all or nothing' phenomena. In the first two levels individual issues, traumas and restrictions will typically just involve one or sometimes two chakras at a time, whereas with the third level restrictions will frequently cause all of the chakras on the level to become blocked or damaged. And the type of stimulus that causes such damage to this level is of a very specific type, thus giving us valuable insights into the nature of the third level.

Following is a list of known stimuli that cause major damage to the third level: 1) use of hallucinogenic drugs, 2) MRIs (a common medical testing procedure), 3) electroshock therapy (a medical procedure used with increasing frequency in mental hospitals), 4) religious dogma of an extreme nature (i.e. extreme enough to cause the member to 'disconnect' from their own ability to connect with the divine by totally 'buying into' the group's belief system telling them how to connect with the divine), 5) sudden loss of a significant family member during one's formative years without sufficient understanding (the ripping away of the mental fabric of reality, as one's reality when young is one's immediate family), 6) satanic ritual, which in some cases may be secondary to sexual abuse when the perpetrator is 'under the influence' of drugs or alcohol and thus some demonic possession, 7) 'close encounters of the third kind' (and not the nice kind) although this last one is more difficult to verify.

Level III restrictions will present in the fascia in the coronal or frontal plane if they relate to more mundane beliefs, and in the sagittal plane if they relate to beliefs affecting our ability to connect with the spiritual realm. Both can be assessed 'on-body' by specific palpation assessment of the coronal and sagittal planes. Level III restrictions can be found 'off-body' at the height of the third level and can be palpated through manual thermal diagnosis.
